Better Images of AI

How AI works Facilitation & communities

What can I learn?

A free, openly licensed repository of alternative images of AI, created to counter the dominance of sci-fi, glowing-brain and humanoid-robot stock imagery. The images aim to help people communicate about AI more accurately — portraying the technology, the people behind it, and its real context and consequences.

Core insight

The pictures we use to talk about AI shape how people think about it: robot-and-blue-brain clichés make AI seem magical and autonomous. Honest imagery is part of honest explanation.

How to use it in daily work

A practical resource for your own materials — slides, handouts, posts — so the visuals reinforce rather than undermine an accurate message about AI.

  • Pull images from the library for an AI awareness session instead of the usual humanoid-robot stock photo.
  • Use the contrast between cliché and realistic imagery as a discussion starter about how AI is hyped and mythologised.
